Saturday is Family Day at JMDC!

Rock Collecting at the Dinosaurs

Learn about minerals, how rocks and fossils are formed, see all of the giant dinosaurs as you hike up to dinosaur mesa and collect 12 rock and>mineral specimens of your very own. Times are 9:00, 12:00 and 2:00 and the cost is $8.00 per person, children 2 years and under are free.

Garden Tour

A unique opportunity to visit our Aloe and Cactus gardens which have mature growth of over 40 years. Also visit our Pelargonium garden with over 200 varieties and the Iris garden which will be one of only four gardens selected for The American Iris Society Spring Trek in 2012. Time is 10:30 and the cost is $2.00 per person. There is also a self-guided tour for those that wish to enjoy the garden at their own pace.

Earth Science Museum

Visit the Ruth and Sam Kirkby Earth Science Museum which houses the largest collection of Chinese Dinosaur Eggs for public display in North America. To list a few of the museum exhibits, there are Dinosaurs, Florescent Minerals, Fossils, Indian Artifacts, Ivory, Mining, Petrified Wood, Rocks and Minerals, Sea Shells and Much More! The is no cost to enjoy the museum, however donations are always welcome!
